 Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a comprehensive community college preparing qualified students for jobs in industries in Nevada. In fact, 95 percent of its graduates remain in Nevada after completing their studies, helping to build and support our local community. The TMCC Foundation is the College’s fundraising division. Since its inception in 1982, the TMCC Foundation has provided support to the College through scholarships, instructional equipment, professional development, and capital needs of the College. 

Amount: $6,000
Purpose: Fund three scholarships for women pursuing degrees in science and medicine 

The Desert Research Institute (DRI) is a recognized world leader in basic and applied environmental research. Committed to scientific excellence and integrity, DRI faculty, students who work alongside them, and staff have developed scientific knowledge and innovative technologies in research projects around the globe.  Since 1959, DRI’s research has advanced scientific knowledge on topics ranging from humans’ impact on the environment to the environment’s impact on humans. DRI’s impactful science and inspiring solutions support Nevada’s diverse economy, provide science-based educational opportunities, and inform policymakers, business leaders, and community members.

 The TM Firefighter Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization formed to promote a greater quality of life by assisting the community, its members, and their families during times of serious illness, injury, or loss through financial and humanitarian aid. 

Amount: $424.25

Purpose: Unrestricted program support 

Adopt-a-Vet Dental Program provides free critical and life-saving dental care to impoverished veterans in Nevada.   The program identifies and qualifies each case, then seeks appropriate dental care for the qualified veteran. All dental services are provided pro bono to qualifying veterans. This is only possible because of the extensive services donated by volunteer dentists.  And the labs who help subsidize or completely cover the lab expenses associated with each veteran’s treatment.

Amount: $625

Purpose: Unrestricted program support 

Since 1997, Northern Nevada HOPES has been on the front lines of community health, caring for those with the fewest resources and options, many of whom are living in crisis every day.  From its early days as a single-room HIV/AIDS clinic to the 38,000 -sq-foot community health center they are in today, HOPES continues to serve Northern Nevada’s vulnerable, overlooked and underserved.  They  tackle our community’s hard problems with resolve and compassion — from chronic disease to addiction.

Amount: $704

Purpose: Unrestricted program support 

Founded in 1904, the Nevada Historical Society seeks to advance the study of the heritage of Nevada, the Great Basin, and the West. The mission of the NHS is to collect, preserve, and educate the public about our shared history through exhibitions, artifacts, books, photographs, and manuscript materials relating to the state of Nevada, the Great Basin, and the West.

Amount: $417

Purpose: Unrestricted program support 

 The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides food for families in need through more than 150 partner agencies across northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the Sierra in California.   They serve more than 137,000 people every month, almost half of whom are children and seniors. 

Amount: $2,083

Purpose: Unrestricted program support 

Washoe County K9 Partners is a non-profit organization designed to help Washoe County, Nevada’s law enforcement dogs that serve and protect our communities with equipment, training, and medical needs.
