The TCC’s Nursing Scholarship through the TMCC Foundation provides funding for two second year students pursuing a “career-focused” Associate of Science. For the 2020-21 term, the TCC will fund a third degree-based scholarship Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology.
Amount: $7,500
Purpose: Fund three scholarships for women pursuing degrees in science and medicine
Nevada Youth Empowerment Project (NYEP) was founded in 2007 to develop and implement programming targeting aged-out (18-24) and unprepared youth. The participants in the program work to accomplish structured goals—high school graduation, employment, college education, independent housing, good citizenry, and avoidance of welfare.
Amount: $5,000
Purpose: To support NYEP’s Community Living Program which assists at-risk young women ages 19-24 to grow and become meaningful contributors to our community.
The Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada (GSSN) believes in the power of girls. The GSSN has more than 4,500 girls and 200 volunteers learning the value of teamwork, friendship, and community involvement. From serving meals to homeless to raising funds for animal shelters—girls learn she can make a difference in the world.
Amount: $500
Purpose: To support GSSN’s Low-Income Families and Neighborhoods Program which partners with agencies to ensure no at-risk girls are turned away from scouting programs in Washoe County due to a lack of household resources.
