Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a comprehensive community college preparing qualified students for jobs in industries in Nevada. In fact, 95 percent of its graduates remain in Nevada after completing their studies, helping to build and support our local community. The TMCC Foundation is the College’s fundraising division. Since its inception in 1982, the TMCC Foundation has provided support to the College through scholarships, instructional equipment, professional development, and capital needs of the College.
Amount: $5,000
Purpose: Fund two scholarships for women pursuing degrees in science and medicine
The TCC's Philanthropic Committee identified four community programs to assist through luncheon fundraising. The members raised a total of $2,496 at their October, December, February, and April luncheons. The nonprofit awards: Crisis Pregnancy/Daddy Academy--$622; Note-Able Music Therapy--$632; Awaken--$792; and, Canine Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary, $450.
