Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a comprehensive community college preparing qualified students for jobs in industries in Nevada. In fact, 95 percent of its graduates remain in Nevada after completing their studies, helping to build and support our local community. The TMCC Foundation is the College’s fundraising division. Since its inception in 1982, the TMCC Foundation has provided support to the College through scholarships, instructional equipment, professional development, and capital needs of the College.
Amount: $7,500
Purpose: Fund three scholarships for women pursuing degrees in science and medicine
The Eddy House Community Living Program is a past recipient of TCC funding. This is an established community program with demonstrated results. Providing a 6-month housing program designed to help youth to break the cycle of chronic homelessness and become self-sufficient by focusing on employment skills, school (GED), and community involvement. Recently, the organization opened a 15,000-square-foot facility which enables them to provide services 24/7 and identify clients for their Community Living Program.
Amount: $3,000
Purpose: Unrestricted program support
