Socializing boosts mental health, sharpens the brain, improves physical health, reduces stress, and promotes happiness.   Even small interactions matter!  The Twentieth Century Club offers a variety of engaging activities that blend social, civic, and philanthropic efforts.     Here are some highlights:

IT'S JUST LUNCH

TCC's monthly Lunch & Learns offer such a wonderful blend of nourishment and connection! It's not just about the food—it's about the exchange of ideas, the camaraderie, and the energy of being part of a thoughtful community. Gathering from September to May keeps it engaging throughout most of the year, creating a rhythm for networking and meaningful dialogue. It’s a perfect recipe for fostering both friendships and fresh perspectives. 

CAN'T MAKE LUNCH, NO PROBLEM

These clubs really cater to diverse interests while fostering year-round engagement. Whether members enjoy the strategic camaraderie of bridge, the enriching discussions in book clubs, or the creativity of gardening and arts, there's something for everyone. And for the early risers, the breakfast club must be a great way to start the day with good food and even better company. These groups seem like a perfect extension of the Twentieth Century Club's spirit of connection and community! 

• Bridge Club--The Bridge Club is a fantastic tradition! Having a set schedule—the first Friday of each month—makes it easy for members to plan ahead and look forward to connecting over this classic game. Bridge is not just about strategy; it fosters social bonds and provides a relaxed yet engaging atmosphere. It's a perfect way for members to unwind while sharpening their minds. 

• Breakfast Club--The perfect way to kick off the month! Exploring different cafes in the Reno/Sparks area keeps things exciting, giving members a taste of local flavors alongside great conversations. Starting at 9:00 a.m. sets a relaxed tone, ensuring everyone can enjoy their morning while connecting with others. It feels like a simple yet enriching way to foster community ties. 
  

• Book Club--Book clubs create a shared experience that transforms reading into a dynamic and enriching activity.  The TCC Book Club is no different.  It cultivates a habit of regular reading while introducing its members to genres and authors they might not have discovered otherwise.  Additionally, the sense of community fosters friendships, encourages thoughtful conversation, and enhances critical thinking skills. 

• Gardening Arts--The Gardening Arts group sounds like such a vibrant way to connect with nature and embrace Nevada’s unique ecosystem! Meeting during the warmer months, they must take full advantage of the state’s stunning landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. Hosting special events around outdoor living adds a creative and refreshing touch, making it more than just gardening—it’s a celebration of the environment.

AFTER HOURS FUN

The Twentieth Century Club truly shines when it comes to combining fun with purpose.  Booze & Botanicals both stands out as creative way  to support the TCC's Nursing Scholarship Program. Casual events like this are not only enjoyable, but also reflect the club's knack for making philanthropy engaging and memorable. It shows how the TCC blends social vibrancy with meaningful community impact.

Following the Money--Nonprofit Site Tours and Volunteer Opportunities:  By touring the facilities we help fund, the members aren't just donors—they're engaged stewards of our contributions. It reflects a hands-on approach to philanthropy, ensuring that the club’s initiatives have a genuine, lasting impact. Plus, these visits strengthen our connection to the causes we support, adding a personal and heartfelt dimension to our efforts. It’s such a meaningful way to blend generosity with accountability.
