This vibrant gathering returns on September 25th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at the storied Abby’s Highway 40—a venue where history and hospitality intertwine to create the perfect backdrop for an evening of mingling, learning, and savoring.

Booze and Botanicals is more than just an event; it is a celebration of all things green and spirited. Conceived as a way to unite the community through the shared joys of craft cocktails and horticultural curiosity, the event has, over the years, blossomed into a cherished tradition. Each installment features a curated selection of botanical cocktails, non-alcoholic concoctions, and a bounty of inspiration for both seasoned gardeners and curious beginners.

Step into Abby’s Highway 40 and you’ll find the air alive with excitement and the subtle perfume of fresh herbs and blossoms. The Booze and Botanicals’ Island Experience is crafted for those who appreciate the nuances of a well-made drink and the magic of a flourishing garden. Whether you are an aficionado of mixology or simply looking for an inspiring way to spend an autumn afternoon, this event promises something for everyone.

CRAFT COCKTAILS, INSPIRED BY URBAN ROOTS' GARDEN

Abby’s talented mixologist is creating and showcasing an array of bespoke cocktails and mocktails, each thoughtfully infused with herbs, fruits, and botanicals. Expect to discover classics reimagined with a twist of rosemary or basil, as well as entirely new creations that tell a story with every sip.

WORKSHOPS AND DEMONSTRATIONS

Throughout the evening, guests are invited to participate in hands-on demonstrations and workshops. Urban Roots educators will share tips on growing your own cocktail garden, with a focus on herbs and edible flowers that thrive in our local climate. Whether you have an expansive backyard or a sunny windowsill, you’ll leave with practical knowledge, seeds, and the confidence to cultivate your own harvest.

Its blend of old-world woodwork, sprawling outdoor space, and rustic elegance make it an ideal place to enjoy the relaxed splendor of early fall. If you’ve never visited before, this event is the perfect occasion to discover a local gem.  (Off-street parking for the event is available at St. Vincent’s.)

A CAUSE WORTH TOASTING

The festivities are made even more meaningful with a special raffle, featuring thoughtfully curated prizes that reflect the heart of our community.   All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to supporting nursing scholarships at Truckee Meadows Community College, empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals and strengthening the bonds between education and community wellness.   By attending, you’re not only treating yourself to an unforgettable afternoon—you’re also helping plant seeds of change.
